We've said it before...cocktails don't have to be complicated. The most simplest of cocktails? The gin and tonic of course!
Here at Mindful Mixology we're big fans of giving your drinks a little hit of goodness; whether it's through added Kombucha, a few drops of CBD, or the addition of a superfood- in this case, Açai.
We've got a few kitchen staples that we love adding to smoothies bowls, cocktails and drinks throughout the year- all colours of the rainbow. Blue spirulina, matcha, beetroot powder, turmeric of course.
This recipes calls for Açai powder. Do note that when you add it to drinks it doesn't quite dissolve so you really need to shake it properly and not be worried by the teeny tiny particles.
And so without further ado, we present to you the Açai Gin and Tonic. Enjoy!
Ingredients
1 tsp Acai Powder
50ml any local or organic gin. We used our favourite Norfolk Gin in this one- we love their refillable ceramic bottles
25ml Fresh lemon juice
A good quality tonic. We used Fevertree Elderflower in this one, for a nice 'Spring' twist.
Norfolk Gin- available at Jarrolds
Method
Add the gin, Açai powder and lemon juice to a cocktail shaker.
Add a scoop of ice.
Shake vigorously for 10 seconds until the shaker is cool to the touch.
In a short glass and a few cubes of ice (the bigger the better).
Pour over the Açai mix.
Top with tonic and garnish with fresh herbs or an edible flower. We chose a spring of dried lavender and a rose bud.
