It's been a while since we've worked with whiskey, so we thought we'd give you a delightful c whiskey sour to celebrate the final of our March 'Cocktails with Benefits' feature.
As with all sours, it's a simple mix of a base spirit, sweetener and citrus. For this variation we've picked a d bourbon; Makers Mark.
For the sweetener we used a maple syrup which we had diluted slightly, to a 2:1 ratio. And for the citrus we went with fresh organic lemons.
Of course there is the addition of carrot juice, and seeing as we do love a good froth, we added a couple of drops of Miracle foamer.
Give it a go- if you like whiskey sours, you'll love this, and it feels kind of healtht! Bonus.
Recipe:
50ml of a good Bourbon, we used Makers Mark
25ml Maple Syrup (diluted 2:1)
25ml Lemon Juice
50ml Organic Carrot Juice
2 drops of Ms Better's Bitters Miracle Foamer
Method:
Pop everything into a cocktail shaker (or a jam jar with lid).
Shake vigorously before added ice (called a dry shake).
Add a small handful of ice, and shake again until condensation forms on the shaker.
Strain into a glass of your choice. We've gone for a coup, but a short glass will do nicely.
Garnish with a slice of lemon, a baby carrot, or simply enjoy.
