We're stepping into Autumn with a swing in our step. We're celebrating Sober October! Love it or loath it, the campaign is actually to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, and although the main goal is to raise money, the campaign also helps remind people to check in with their alcohol consumption.
And so for this month, we will be releasing a variety of non-alcoholic drink recipes every weekend for you to try at home.
From smoothies to Nojitos, and our take on a 0% old fashioned!
This week we're kicking off with a G & T....ginger and turmeric that is!
This immune-boosting magic potion is nutritious, delicious, and has a depth of flavour that rivals the most complex cocktails out there.
What you need:
- 200ml freshly squeezed orange juice
- 25ml lemon juice
- 25ml lime juice
- 1" root of ginger
- a tiny pinch of ground turmeric
In a cocktail shaker add a few chunks of ginger and muddle it (if you don't have a muddler use a pestle or a similar blunt object- the key is to smash the ingredients to break them down and release the flavour).
Add the orange, lemon and lime, and a pinch of turmeric.
Add cubed ice and shake hard. Pour into a glass and garnish with some fresh herbs and dried fruit.
